EUDR to come in force as of December 2025

⏰ 12 months extra time ⏰

The implementation of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) has just been delayed by one year. It will now come into force on 30 December 2025 for large companies and on 30 June 2026 for micro and small enterprises.

🌳🌲 The regulation aims to combat deforestation. Any company that imports, transforms and/or trades in goods that may come from deforested areas must be able to prove that its products are indeed deforestation-free.

The problem was that many companies were still uncertain about how to implement the regulation. Questions remained, such as the type of monitoring and reporting required to prove that goods are deforestation-free. The additional time should allow companies to put in place processes and tools to track and certify their supply chains.

✅ ESMERALDA TRACKER provides such a tool to track land use change and identify deforested areas in your supply chain.
